Travco’s roots date back to 1973, when Edgar Jenkins and his son, David Jenkins, founded E. Jenkins & Sons, establishing a family legacy in underground utility and infrastructure work. After Edgar's passing in 1986, David Jenkins continued that legacy by founding David Jenkins Construction, Inc. in 1988 and securing the company’s first major contract with Ohio Bell. Following that milestone, Johnny Jenkins joined the company, further strengthening its capabilities and expanding its experience in large-scale utility work.
In 2001, Johnny Jenkins founded Travco Construction, with the company’s first contract awarded by the City of Columbus, marking the beginning of Travco’s dedicated focus on municipal infrastructure.
Over the years, Travco has become a trusted partner to cities and utilities by delivering safe, compliant solutions that protect public health and minimize disruption to residents. With deep field expertise, specialized excavation capabilities, and a strong understanding of municipal requirements, Travco continues to support communities through reliable infrastructure services executed with pride and accountability.
